Introducing Groundswell Network
By Greg Lippman, Founder & CEO
It is with a great deal of pride and excitement that we launch Groundswell Network, a new organization whose mission is to ensure that schools and programs demonstrating the greatest impact with our country’s most underserved students are identified, strengthened, and scaled.
Even before the pandemic, our public school system systematically failed children at the margins, especially those who were dropping out, struggling with addiction, getting entangled in the juvenile justice system, or working to keep a roof over their family’s head instead of going to class. Post-pandemic, these problems have grown even more acute as schools grapple with increased behavior issues and absenteeism, especially for students with mental health issues and profound learning gaps.
Groundswell exists to help these young people change the trajectory of their lives by filling a critical gap in the public education landscape, working with community leaders and system-level decision-makers to build and sustain high-quality alternative schools. By incubating and scaling the best ideas, disseminating proven practices, and helping decision-makers build systems that support the best models, Groundswell offers communities the strategies and support they need to achieve their vision of success for all young people.
If you are working to improve outcomes for students in alternative schools and programs, we invite you to join our network to both contribute what you’ve learned and collaborate with some of the most visionary, innovative educators, policy experts, and grassroots leaders in the country. Reach out to us at info@groundswellnetwork.org – we look forward to hearing from you.
